Conversations with Levi

Today Levi (my 3 year old) and I had the following conversations. I had to share it...

Levi: Mom, we have 5 kids in our family.

Me: Yes and Larson is with Jesus. What do you think he is doing?

Levi: Playing with Pearl and Sophie.

Me: Yes probably. Hes probably having so much fun.

Levi: Why didn't you die with should've!

Me: Why should I have dies also?

Levi: Because you were with him.

Me: Well..I was not sick though. He was in my tummy and he came out, but we knew he was a sick little man.

Levi: Well we should have brought him home to make him feel better.

Me: Well we knew that he did not have his brain and that he would not be able to live.

Levi: Well you should have taken him to the doctor so he could be better.

Me: We did talk to the doctor, but there was nothing we could do.

Levi: Well I still think we should have got him home fast....then he would be better.

Oh out of the mouth of babes. Levi LOVES talking about his brother and I think every worker from target to walmart to the outlet mall knows about Larson. Any comment pertaining to "how many kids we have..." Levi will always make sure they know about "Larson, my brother who died!" Amazing the effect Larson had on his siblings. Although small...his life was large!

Hello. I'm roaming the blog world a bit this morning and I ended up here by no mistake. I have been so touched as I've read your story. Larson is such a beautiful and precious child. I'm so sorry for the sorrow you've endured. I understand. I've lost three children myself.

Thank you for sharing your story. I'm just so moved. The pictures of your family are beautiful...something I wish I would have had when my little boys were born.

Have a lovely day.
PS Come and visit me at I'd love to share my story with you.

How wonderful that Levi loves his little brother so much. It makes me think how Zane askes for his "Mickie Bear, Micky Blanket, and turns on Mickie's Fountain" How much they are part of the family and touch our lives daily without even knowing it. Praying for strength.

I am sitting here crying - 4-1/2 years later, but it's one of those nights... I cry for you. For me. For my young friend who just lost her little baby three weeks ago. We live in a fallen world, and I long for the day that I will join my children - that ALL my children will be together. Come quickly, Lord Jesus.

oh, i so get this. these same conversations i have with our liam about sydney. i love how our boys are so compassionate and loving towards their siblings even though they are not here with them. all they have seen and experienced through our loss, it will make them better men and more compassionate husbands and human beings i think. they see things eternally which is a pretty cool thing at their is still hard when they miss them, those moments are so very hard for to listen to but i praise God for a sweet son who ALWAYS opens up to me about his hurting heart, how he misses his sister and i am thankful for the teachable moment it gives me to show liam about trusting our Lord. bless your sweet family....i, too, wish we lived closer for tea and a good cry together....

Such a precious conversation with Levi here. He is so honest and up front with his feelings, reminding us that the Lord wants us to be like the little children when we come to Him. I am praying that we all "get it" like Levi does, simple and honest. I love you Corie and am praying for your joy to be full in His time.

Love, Laurie in Ca.

I have never been to your blog, but I was on Lynette's blog, and saw your message there. I have never experienced the pain you are facing, but I saw tremendous faith and courage in your story. I just wanted you to know that I read your blog, and think you are amazing.

So sweet. Aren't you glad you have the innocence of your children that speak straight from the heart. You do have 5 beautiful babies..and it is so special that 4 of them keep Larson close to their hearts and thoughts. You are really helping your kids grasp God's grace. We love you all.
